Sealaska Corporation is seeking a Corporate Accountant to join our team at our headquarters on-site in Juneau, AK. This is a full-time/benefited opening slated to start as soon as possible. This role will provide general ledger accounting support including Budget, Audit and Tax schedules for assigned areas of responsibility: Cash, Fixed Assets, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Intercompany. Local candidates are highly preferred.


  • Cash: Performs reconciliations of payments and receipts.
  • Fixed Assets: Maintains fixed asset records including additions, retirements, depreciation and reports.
  • Accounts Receivable: Prepares invoices and aging reports for building tenants and intercompany transactions.
  • Accounts Payable: Ensures Sealaska pays suppliers on a timely basis and maintains documentation of those payments.
  • Sealaska’s accounting department prepares monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for internal and external purposes. The corporate accountant will assist Sealaska by preparing journal entries, account reconciliations and documentation of its accounting transactions.
  • Any other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.


  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration, Accounting major or minor preferred.
  • Two years of corporate, government or public accounting experience.
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional work ethic.
  • Credible, ethical, clean financial history and able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft’s Office applications.
  • Familiarity with Oracle E-Business Suite or other ERP software is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of accounting theory and accounting practices.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work independently. 

Additional Requirements:

Position is subject to satisfactory completion of a background check and reference check. A valid driver’s license is also required for this position.
